Text Users Rebate

If you are a textphone user you will receive an automatic text users rebate on your phone bill for any text calls made through BT TextDirect because of the amount of time it takes to type a conversation instead of speaking it.

BT TextDirect is the service that allows people using textphones to make calls to someone using a standard voice phone. By using the correct BT TextDirect access code (see below) an operator will relay a call between text and voice users. BT applies an automatic discount of 60% to any text portion of a call made using the BT TextDirect access codes.

BT TextDirect access codes (dialled before the full national number of the person you are calling)

18001 if you are using a text phone to contact someone who is using a standard telephone.

18002 if you are using a standard telephone to contact someone who is a textphone user
