Silent Calls

Silent calls are mostly from companies using automatic diallers which make large numbers of calls. Sometimes there are too many calls for advisers to deal with, which results in a silent or hang up call for the customer whose number has been dialled. These type of calls normally happen between 8:30am and 9:30pm and it is likely that the company may eventually get through to you.

BT Privacy

To help reduce the number of silent or hang up calls you can set up BT Privacy. We will register you with the Telephone Preference Service which will decrease the number of sales calls you receive. In addition we will give you free Caller Display which will help you decide whether or not to answer a call. Please note you need a phone with the Caller Display feature for the service to work.

To set up BT Privacy go to www.bt.com/btprivacy or call the automatic service on 0800 121 8000. If you prefer to speak to an adviser ring 0800 800 150 [Text users ring 18001 0800 800 150]
