Welcome to our research and development section, which highlights BT supported projects designed to improve access to information and communication for older and disabled people. 

The projects listed in this section, all of which have a technical focus are:

• Research into the use of safe web colours to improve web accessibility for people with colour blindness

• Streaming audio, aimed at improving access (via broadband) to literature for people with visual impairments

• BT's Datazone project providing wireless internet access for people with physical disabilities and all have a technical focus
