BT has announced this year's Big Listen to be between 10 and 16 October 2005. This year the week will be jam-packed with fun activities, fundraising events and listening breakfasts. For more information about the Big Listen please see www.biglisten.co.uk or email listening@biglisten.co.uk.

ChildLine rock 'n' rolls in it thanks to BT and ‘That'll Be The Day’

The smash hit rock 'n' roll variety show ‘That'll Be The Day’ has joined forced with BT's award-winning ‘Am I Listening?’ campaign to raise funds for ChildLine. ‘That'll Be The Day’ and ChildLine both celebrated their 18th birthdays last year. The musical has been staged over 3000 times since its first show 18 years ago and a new production of the show is staged every year. ‘That'll Be The Day’ is being performed at venues across the UK; following each show, audience members are encouraged to donate money to ChildLine. This exciting new partnership has raised over £20,000 since it began it October 2004. Why not watch a great performance and help raise money for ChildLine at the same time? Himalaya Trek for ChildLine

BT staff and suppliers are getting together this month to climb the Himalayas for ChildLine. Approximately £35,000 will be raised during their trek across the Indian part of the mountain range. The trip will also bring Indian and UK colleagues together, it being an event of cooperation and learning.

All that remains now is to wish them the best of luck!

BT's Giant Sleepover

Get ready for the biggest sleepover in history! This year, up to 100,000 children can sleep over in their school, scout or guide hall on June 18 and help smash the Guinness World Record established by last year's Giant Sleepover, when 8,280 children raised over £100,000 in 2004. The Giant Sleepover asks that 50% be donated to its chosen charity, ChildLine. It costs £10 to register a sleepover, and £1 – a Quid a Kid! for each child attending the sleepover. This year we hope that fundraising will top £1 million! Each participant gets a free goodie bag and every sleepover will be given a free treasure chest for fun during the night. BT Employee fundraising news

To prove that there are still some romantics out there BT organised two Valentines dinners for employees. The demand was high and participants raised over £11,000 for ChildLine.

Meanwhile the more sporty BT employees were set a challenge to walk up the BT Tower. With a height of 191 metres the participants definitely had a tough challenge ahead of them. Forty-five participants participated between 12pm–3.30pm and have raised over £3000 with money still coming in.
