BT employee's bright ideas to raise funds for ChildLine

BT Chairman Sir Christopher Bland has welcomed a boost to the ChildLine appeal from wiredforideas Ltd, the team which helps run BT's employee ideas programmes. The team has pledged to give £1 to ChildLine every time an idea submitted to the BT Ideas scheme is really listened to. And they will double this if the idea results in action. Also, from now on everyone who submits an idea to BT Ideas will be offered the chance to pledge a part of any award they earn to the ChildLine appeal. So everyone wins!

Treasure hunt turns clicks into cash

Culminating in a grand draw held on January 13th, the festive BT Employee Intranet Treasure Hunt raised more than £4,000 for ChildLine. Supported by BT click&buy, the treasure hunt attracted nearly 2300 entries, and saw a BT employee win a fabulous holiday for four.

The winner, who is now smiling all the way to Florida, was presented with her star prize by ChildLine chair, Esther Rantzen OBE, who commented: “The success of this treasure hunt in just a few short weeks has been truly amazing. It once again confirms the generosity of BT employees towards ChildLine. We are all very grateful.”

BT and UK Youth Parliament search for young heroes

BT is teaming up with the UK Youth Parliament to seek out great examples of children and young people who have made their voices heard. We want to help young people from across the UK tell their stories of how they spoke out and really made a difference. Please contact us if you know someone who has proved what can be achieved when young people are listened to.

BT supports “Youth Matters”

Research from the BT ‘Am I Listening?’ campaign featured in a special supplement in The Independent on Saturday 14 December. Entitled “Youth Matters”, and produced in association with The Children & Young People's Unit, the special section also featured an interview with Ivan Lewis MP, Minister for Young People, and articles written by youth news agency Children's Express.
