Find out why fearless Air Scouts volunteer Susan is taking a giant leap
MyDonate fundraiser Susan Feasey is gearing up to jump out of a plane on the 16th of May.
Thanks to free fundraising from MyDonate, every penny raised from her jump will go straight to the 1st Carlton Colville Air Scouts – a not-for-profit group in Suffolk who she volunteers for.
“MyDonate was the best value for our charity”
Susan is really clear why the scouts opted for the MyDonate fundraising platform. She says: “MyDonate was the obvious choice because they don’t charge. MyDonate was easy to set-up, doesn’t charge and collected Gift Aid as well. It was the best value for our charity and our donors, and the website is really easy to set-up and navigate.”
Sending volunteers to the Oshkosh 2015 Air Venture in America
Susan volunteers as an assistant scout leader, helping the group provide activities to local young people including opportunities to fly powered aircraft and gliders.
The scout group are planning to take a group of eight Scouts and Explorers (aged 14-17) to the Oshkosh 2015 Air Venture. The annual air show, held in Wisconsin in July, holds demonstrations from some of the USA’s most experienced aerobics pilots.
On the ground, the scouts will be volunteering alongside aviation staff and scouts from around the world as they help with marshalling the aircraft and catering.
Funds raised from the skydive will also be used to help replace the ceilings and rebuild their storage sheds and garages at the group’s headquarters in Carlton Colville.
Susan says: “I’m a little nervous but mainly really excited! I’ve never done this before but have been gliding and flown a light aircraft. Let’s see how this goes and it might be wing-walking next time!”
