A record night for Children in Need

Children in NeedChildren in Need broke all records this year raising an incredible £26,332,334 on the Friday night - an increase of £7 million on last year’s total.

But it wouldn’t have been possible without the help and support of the many stars and the thousands of ordinary people who gave up their time and money for this worthwhile cause.

All week people embarked upon the usual wacky activities that have become synonymous with Children in Need – and some were nothing short of valiant. For instance the One Show’s Matt Baker made an epic rickshaw ride from Edinburgh to London.

But the party really kicked off on Thursday when Children in Need Rocked Manchester. Gary Barlow, from Take That presented a concert with stars such as Coldplay, Lady Gaga, Snow Patrol and Michael Buble. Truly a night to remember.

Donations are still being received – and you can pledge money at the BBC Children in Need event page.
