BBC Children in Need welcomes MyDonate as official online fundraising partner
BT’s MyDonate service has been named as the official online fundraising partner for this year’s BBC Children in Need.
The company is a longstanding supporter of the annual fundraiser and has worked with BBC Children in Need for more than 30 years.
BT provides the network infrastructure that handles the phone calls from telethon donors, and its e-Donate platform processes their debit and credit card transactions.
The company does all of this free of charge and makes no profit from the support it provides to charity telethons.
And now this year, MyDonate, it’s free-to-use online fundraising service is also the official online fundraising partner for the event.
The Children in Need 2012 telethon takes place on 16th November but fundraising to support has this highly popular TV extravaganza has already begun.
“We have a long relationship with BBC Children in Need helping the charity to raise more than £650 million since it began,” said Stacy Rowland, BT’s Children in Need partnership manager.
“Making MyDonate the official online fundraising partner for the annual telethon is a logical step that ensures that every penny raised via the internet goes to this fantastic charity,” she said.
“Over many years, BT’s eDonate has proved itself to be one of the most reliable and robust online donation platforms available to charities processing more than £160 million in donations over the last ten years alone.”
