BT staff pedal their way to help Paralympics GB
Sixteen cyclists from BT helped raise more than £445 for Paralympics GB after completing a marathon 350km ride on an exercise bike.
The ride was completed at BT’s central London HQ with cyclists taking turns to cover the distance.
They had originally set out to cycle 200km but were spurred by colleagues to push themselves still further.
One of the cyclists – BT’s Kirsty Simpson – said it was a great event even if it was tiring.
“We left buckets out for people to throw in loose change and we also pointed them to our page on MyDonate so they could donate online. It worked really well. And in the end, we paid all the money via the MyDonate web site. A really easy way to raise funds,” she said.
The team is planning on running a half-marathon around London’s Royal Parks in October to raise further funds for Paralympics GB.
