Dogged determination raises £240,000 for cancer

Dogged determination raises £240,000 for cancerRegistered Cancer charity Brown Dog, which has raised more than £240,000 since it was set up ten years ago, says it now expects to see fundraising soar following the launch of the MyDonate website.

“MyDonate will not only allow us to reach a wider audience, it will make it easier for people to make donations,” says the charity’s founder Mark Storer.

“What’s more, while other sites apply a charge, we know all money raised via MyDonate will go to the charity. MyDonate has enabled us to make a huge step forward in the way that donations are collected – making it the fundraising site we’ve been waiting for!”

Ex-cancer patient Mark is part of a team of volunteers who have embarked upon some remarkable fundraising pursuits. His own endeavours has seen him running the London Marathon, walking the 50 mile Jurassic Coast Challenge through the night, completing bike rides, canoeing and climbing.

The money raised by Brown Dog has been used across the UK to purchase vital equipment for diagnosing and treating cancer. This includes the Liver Microwave which is extending the lives of liver cancer patients and is now being used to treat other cancers.
