BBC Children in Need reveals £49.1 million total

Thanks to the generosity of the great British public, the latest BBC Children in Need appeal raised a total of £49.1 million.

That’s up from the £32.6 million raised on the night last November.

It’s a phenomenal result, only bettered by the 2013 total which was £49.6 million.

This means the charity is able to support over 2,500 projects and change disadvantaged young lives. In the past year alone Children In Need has been able to make a positive difference to 480,000 youngsters, from Shetland to the Channel Islands.

Alice Hunt, head of MyDonate and corporate fundraising at BT says: “We are immensely proud at BT to have supported our charity partner BBC Children in Need for more than thirty years.”

Alice recommends using MyDonate to give to Children In Need, and be happy in the knowledge that every single penny will go direct to the charity.

Speaking of the total Sir Terry Wogan, Life President of BBC Children in Need said: “It’s been another fantastic year, with another fantastic total.

“On behalf of everyone at the charity and the projects we support, I’d like to say a heartfelt thank you.

“Your generosity makes it all possible.”
