Pedalling coast to coast for Cancer Research UK and ChildLine

CyclistsA team of cyclists has just covered an epic 140 miles in two days to raise money for Cancer Research UK and ChildLine.

While many of us enjoyed a relaxing August Bank Holiday weekend, Rob Scragg and Mik Brown along with Mike Wilson, David Wilkinson, Alex Coultate, John Collins and Colin Bennett were pedalling their way closer towards their £6,000 fundraising target.

The Coast2Coast cycle ride from Whitehaven to Tynemouth is just one part of their fundraising campaign.

Rob and Mik also completed the national Three Peaks Challenge a few weeks ago, climbing the highest mountains in Scotland, England and Wales within 24 hours.

Rob said: “We couldn’t do any of this without the support of our volunteers who help drive us and our kit around – we’re eternally grateful to them.”

And with a whole lot more fundraising events planned, the campaign will – literally – reach its peak in November, when they take on their ultimate challenge: to climb to Mount Everest’s Base Camp.

So far with Gift Aid, they have raised £1,765 towards their £6,000 target, with donations still coming in.
