Lewis to lead Institute of Fundraising
Peter Lewis has been announced as the new chief executive of The Institute of Fundraising (IoF), and will join the organisation in October.
Peter currently holds a chief executive position at London Voluntary Service Council. Although he has never worked as a fundraiser, it is reported that he has been selected for the new role based on his broad skill-set, his passion and his understanding of the voluntary sector.
Stephen Pidgeon, an IoF trustee who was involved in the selection process, says Lewis’s qualities outweighed the superior fundraising experience of some of the other candidates.
“We wanted someone with the broadest skills, and he shone like a beacon,” says Stephen.
Lewis takes up the position of chief executive following the departure of the Institute’s previous chief executive Amanda McLean, who left the organisation in March.
