MyDonate featured on Money Saving Expert

BT MyDonate’s features have been compared to other fundraising platforms as part of a review of charitable giving options by leading consumer website Money Saving Expert.

The verdict?

“MyDonate comes top giving charities the £12.35 from a £10 donation with Gift Aid.”

MyDonate is the free to use fundraising and donation service, provided by BT, that doesn’t take any commission on the money raised, or charge the charity to register or join - so aside from the credit card (1.3%) or debit card fees (15p) - every penny goes to the charity.

Whether running a marathon or doing a sponsored head shave, many people just pick the most well-known sites - such as Just Giving or Virgin Money Giving. But as the Money Saving Expert article reveals - it pays to do some research as the amount a charity gets varies vastly depending on the website picked.

Positive review

Alice Hunt, head of MyDonate said: “It’s a great to be given such a positive review by Money Saving Expert. MyDonate has more than 8,000 charities signed up and we are growing all the time. So many people don’t realise that with some leading sites charges are applied to donations and fundraising totals.”

“But by using MyDonate, fundraisers can make sure charities get the maximum money. It means that as much as five per cent more money goes to the charity when compared with some of the other sites.”

If you are thinking of taking part in a challenge or fundraising event and you want the charity you’re supporting to receive the maximum money, take a tip from Money Saving Expert and use BT MyDonate.
