Nepal earthquake: support the DEC's urgent appeal

Nepal earthquake disaster

The Disasters Emergency Committee has launched an urgent appeal with MyDonate for donations in the aftermath of the Nepal earthquake.

On Saturday the 25th of April an earthquake measuring 7.8 magnitude struck Nepal. The death toll, currently at 3,700 continues to rise as rescue workers struggle to reach stranded villagers in remote parts of Nepal. Located in the Himalayas, Nepal’s mountainous terrain is expected to make rescue efforts particularly challenging.

Funds raised through the urgent appeal will help the DEC member agencies provide crucial aid and medical supplies to those affected on the ground.

Dedicated site

Harry Chambers, senior partnership manager for BT’s Improving Lives programme, says: “As soon as the DEC had confirmed they would issue an appeal for Nepal, the BT MyDonate team immediately got to work to build a dedicated site for this major public appeal.”

He adds: “The world has been shocked to see the tragic events unfolding in Nepal and at BT we are pleased to be able to do all we can to assist the relief effort.”

You can donate securely to the appeal using MyDonate.
