Countdown to BBC Children in Need
With just weeks to until BBC Children in Need the clock is ticking towards one of the country’s favourite fundraisers.
This year, the annual Pudsey appeal is on November 18th - with the theme ‘Show your spots, let’s raise lots!’ - and people up and down the country will be doing all sorts of things to help make a difference for disadvantaged children in the UK.
This is the BBC’s 31st appeal and the millions that have been donated over the years have transformed many young people’s lives.
Everyone is being encouraged to get involved. Some schools are organising fancy dress days and cake sales. Local pubs are having quiz nights. And some brave guys are having their legs waxed and heads shaved to raise those crucial pennies.
As usual, the highlight will be the annual telethon hosted by the ever popular Sir Terry Wogan. And once again, the whole event will be backed by BT. The company has supported BBC Children in Need since the very first telethon in 1980 and continues to provide support to make the event a success.
The BBC has created a fundraising pack to help inspire people and get everyone involved. It is crammed with ideas, guides, stickers, sponsorship forms and posters, and can be ordered from their website.
So please visit the BBC Children in Need page on MyDonate to make your donation. And remember, every penny you donate to this wonderful cause through the MyDonate service will go to a child in need.
