Raise a mug to the world's biggest coffee morning

Macmillan

Macmillan Cancer Support’s flagship fundraising event – the World’s Biggest Coffee Morning – returns on Friday 25th September.

Having a coffee morning is the perfect chance for friends, family or work colleagues to catch up over a cuppa and a slice of cake for a great cause.

This year Macmillan is hoping that more people than ever will take part and help to celebrate its 25th anniversary by raising more than £25 million for people affected by cancer.

Research suggests that one in two of us will face cancer, and the money raised at coffee mornings will help make sure no one has to face it alone.

Simple but great idea

The idea remains as simple today as it was in 1991 when the first official World’s Biggest Coffee Morning took place.

That first official event saw 2,600 people across the UK host a coffee morning. Last year Macmillan estimates that more than five million people were involved.

 Coffee

And since that first coffee morning a staggering £138 million has been raised.

With 2.5 million people currently living with cancer, this year Macmillan needs more people than ever to get involved. Every cup of coffee bought, cake baked and laugh shared at a coffee morning helps the charity to continue to provide vital services and support.
