Carglass upgrades to BT network and services

Leading Dutch vehicle glass repair & replacement company chooses BT as its primary networked IT supplier

BT announces that it has completed the first stage of a three-year managed services contract with Carglass, a leading Dutch vehicle glass repair and replacement company, part of Belron International. Carglass has 55 national service centres, 240 mobile service units and 800 employees servicing drivers 24/7. The contract covers secure networked IT services, providing a highly resilient IP network that connects all 55 service centres across the Netherlands. The contract encompasses wide area network, telehousing, internet access and managed firewall services.

Henk van Tongeren, CFO Carglass: “We were looking for a new network- and IT- partner who could offer us flexibility, future-proof technology, network stability and availability. These capabilities had to be combined with seamless migration from existing systems and cost effectiveness.”

The contract was signed in February 2011, and BT completed the network-migration of the 55 national service centres by the end of April. “We were very impressed with the drive, commitment and flexibility of BT’s team. For me, this shows that we definitely have chosen the right partner”, Henk van Tongeren concludes.
