Crabtree & Evelyn choose Point of Sale as a service from BT
BT has installed a new cloud-based version of its Store 6.2 Point of Sale (POS) solution for Crabtree & Evelyn, the international fragrance and luxury gift retailer.
Crabtree & Evelyn is the first retailer in the UK to use BT’s Virtual Data Centre (VDC) to run BT Expedite’s market-leading point of sale, store express software. Using a VDC means the retailer has the optimum processing capacity available at any time. It can grow and shrink with their needs, but they only pay for the processing power that they actually use.
Store 6 uses touch screens, together with tabbed menus for back office functions, to create an easy-to-use, feature-rich POS, offering multi-channel trading and configured to meet Crabtree & Evelyn’s needs. The new system covers 90 tills at 39 stores in the UK.
Crabtree & Evelyn is also the first retailer in the country to use BT’s new managed, secure, end-to-end payment service designed specifically to meet the new Payment Card Industry Security Standard (PCI DSS) set out by the major payment card schemes to help protect customers against theft or fraud.
Ensuring store systems and processes meet PCI compliance is a legal, financial and organisational burden, not to mention the potential damage to a brand’s reputation should a security system be breached. To avoid this BT supplies the hardware, software, implementation, hosting, support and training and manages it on the retailer’s behalf.
