Rothwell gymnastics helps BT bring london 2012 tickets to Wakefield
Local gymnastic squad help deliver the Phone Book from BT with Olympic spirit
Local gymnastics club Rothwell Gymnastics' helped bring a little Olympic spirit to Wakefield today when they delivered the Phone Book from BT to one lucky household in a unique style. To promote the opportunity for Wakefield residents to win tickets to see the action first-hand, members of Rothwell Gymnastics illustrated some of the skills that will be on show at gymnastic events at the London 2012 Olympic Games this year.
The Phone Book from BT, which features Yorkshire’s own Olympic medallist Derek Ibbotson on the cover, will be landing on Wakefield doormats giving households the chance to get their hands on some sought-after tickets to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. They simply need to find the freephone prize draw number in the classified section, call with their details and they will automatically be entered into a draw to win a pair of tickets.
Ibbotson, the one-time world record holder and first man to run an exact four minute mile, won a bronze medal in the 1956 Melbourne Olympic Games in the 5000m.
Helen Monks, squad coach of Rothwell Gymnastics said: “We’re delighted to help BT give our family and friends in Wakefield the chance to win tickets to the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. We’ll be following all the action closely and wish everyone luck in winning the chance to be there in person to cheer on Team GB – especially in the gymnastics!”
The new Phone Book from BT contains several additional features, including a section with cut-out vouchers so people can save money with advertisers in the Phone Book; menu guides in the classified restaurant section; as well as guides for hair and beauty, leisure, sport and tourism.
David Grossman, chief executive of BT Directories, said: “The Phone Book from BT is still one of the quickest ways to locate a friend, an essential service or a local business. Offering Wakefield the chance to win tickets for London 2012 is a great way to celebrate BT’s involvement with the Games. Good luck in searching for the special numbers.”
“Derek is considered by many to be one of our greatest athletes and his accomplishments make him a role model and an important ambassador for people across the UK. And who knows? Maybe the new Phone Book from BT will become a collectors’ item.”
BT is the official communications services partner for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games. The Phone Book from BT will include London 2012 information specific to each region as the Games move closer.
