BT is investing £2.5bn to roll-out fibre broadband to around two-thirds of homes and businesses in the UK. This will be completed during Spring 2014.

Dubbed the “Big Build”, the work is being carried out by Openreach - BT's local network division - on behalf of all communications providers.

By working in partnership with the public sector, we could bring fibre broadband in reach of more than 90% of UK premises. Plus, by deploying alternative broadband technologies, we could bring faster speeds to the final few per cent.

At the same time, BT is also upgrading the UK's copper network and rolling out more Ethernet nodes than any other UK telecoms company, ensuring a choice of connectivity.
