US telecoms company Sprint Nextel has appointed Steven Elfman - formerly president of mobile data technology services company Motricity - to the new position of president of network operations and wholesale.
Sprint says he will oversee the company’s combined network and IT organisations, as well as the wholesale organisation. The company's technology development and product development organisations will also report to him. President and chief executive officer Dan Hesse said: “In creating this position, we are taking advantage of advancements in our network technology and information systems to strengthen innovation in the products and services sold directly to customers and to third parties. “Steve also brings a wealth of experience in wireless applications and internet business models, which will be valuable expertise for Sprint.”
