Solution will enhance administrative operations and improve management

Indonesian service provider PT Telekomunikasi Indonesia (PT Telkom) has chosen Alcatel-Lucent to deploy a national data recovery service (DRS) network connecting ten cities across the country.

The French-US solutions provider says the internet protocol (IP) multi-protocol label switching (MPLS)-based network will ensure business continuity for PT Telkom while the connectivity of its data centres is upgraded.

It says the solution will enhance PT Telkom’s administrative operations - for example, centralised billing - and give service providers control over their network, allowing them to manage and troubleshoot simply and effectively.

PT Telkom chief executive officer Rinaldi Firmansyah said: “The new DRS network enables us to consolidate our data centres across the entire nation over a robust, highly-reliable network, ensuring our mission-critical operations are functioning 24 hours a day.”
