Cash is a great move for dancers

A £500 award has got the Bagillt Royal Stars Morris Dancers dancing for joy, thanks to the efforts of Della Diamond, one of their trainers.
Della, who works for Openreach as a local loop unbundling futures and trials consultant in Chester, has been working with the troupe as a trainer for ten years, and received the cash award in the BT Community Champions scheme. “The trainers help make up the new routines and develop the children in the group,” said Della, who started Morris dancing at an early age. “We have new and old dancers, so getting them to help each other and work as a team is a very big part of what we do. “Currently I am helping to train the novice group which consists of girls from four to 11. We have completed the new routines so are currently smartening them up for the next competition. “When the girls win competitions they are so thrilled. To be a part of putting that smile on their faces is priceless.“ The award will go towards new outfits for the coming season.
