Andy Chalkley gives a high five as his team approaches five years of growth
|
It was high fives all round when the Gatwick-based BT Wholesale desk sales team celebrated its fifth birthday.
Over that time, the team has grown to play an increasingly important role alongside the field sales force Used primarily as a field support service in its early days, it went on to develop links between sales and marketing, along with initiatives to drive up integration between desk and field sales across the external sales directorates. The team focused on three imperatives - driving incremental revenue growth; optimising the cost of sale; and enhancing its customers’ experience of BT Wholesale. Today, the team complements the field account teams in delivering end-to-end sales and relationship management. Andy Chalkley, general manager, desk sales, said: “We now have team members working with field sales across our external client base to provide a seamless experience for all customers, no matter how big or small. “Our people deliver new, innovative sales with energy, passion and drive. We are underpinning the strategy of Wholesale Markets in a more effective way than ever before.” Recent success stories include the expansion of the client reception account management (CRAM) volume sales team, which has secured lucrative contracts with clients new to BT Wholesale - all critical to delivering the £30 million stretch revenue target. “We are continuing to grow in credibility and capability, with an ever-increasing role in servicing major customer requirements. With new clients contacted daily, we are excited about what the next five years will hold for us in the desk sales team,” said Andy.
