Gary Shainberg will affirm BT's commitment to Australia in his speech in Sydney

Gary Shainberg, BT vice-president of global technology and innovation support, will tomorrow (Tuesday) address Australia’s leading academics and business leaders at an event in Sydney, as well as being in the closing plenary panel.

The annual summit - which was opened by Australian Prime Minister Kevin Rudd - brings together people in business, government, the public sector, academia and the broader community to improve their understanding of the key issues affecting Australia and its impact on the rest of the world.

The three-day event is organised by a not-for-profit non-political organisation called Australia Davos Connection, which is a sister organisation to the World Economic Forum. This year’s theme is Big Ideas, Shaping the Future.

Gary will talk about Innovative Futures - Collaboration and the Internet as part of the education and innovation track of the conference.

He said: “To be asked to speak at such a high-profile conference is a great honour and gives me the opportunity to affirm BT’s commitment in Australia.”
