Paul Excell, customer innovation and group technology officer in the BT Group chief technology office, is making a keynote speech today (Monday) at the ITU Telecom Africa 2008 forum in the Egyptian capital of Cairo.
The three-day forum and exhibition, which starts today, is a major networking platform for Africa's top information communication technology (ICT) names to come together and focus on core issues relating to ICT expansion across the region. There are around 500 people taking part from leading African and global companies, as well as policy makers, ministers and regulators. Paul is speaking about BT web services and software as a service vision and the company’s transformation into a global networked IT services company in 170 countries. He is highlighting BT's ICT vision and proposals for a sustainable, better world and the latest technology and innovation opportunities from BT. The forum will explore key technologies, policies and applications driving Africa's ICT sector, which is regarded as being ripe for growth and investment, and the audience will explore those possibilities.
