Ramiro Rodrigues is the latest member to join BT's global team of security specialists

Ramiro Rodrigues has been appointed as BT's chief security officer (CSO) for the Latin America region - based in Sao Paolo, Brazil.

He is the latest member of BT's global team of security specialists focused on the internal protection of BT's corporate infrastructure, processes and people.

With more than 15 years’ experience in IT and information security project management, Ramiro has worked as a security consultant and senior manager for CPM Braxis, PriceWaterhouseCoopers and IBM Global Services.

He will be responsible for looking after security and business continuity for the people, processes, physical estate and technology that BT has in Latin America.  BT now has more than 1,000 people employed in the region - from Mexico to Argentina.

BT Global Services vice-president of business resilience, security and business excellence Andy Hodgson said: "BT has grown tremendously in Latin America and, in the light of the recently announced outsourcing plans, will continue to do so.

“Ramiro's appointment fits fully into this expansion of BT's operations and infrastructure. It will ensure business continuity, resilience, compliance and security, so that BT is perceived as the reliable - and therefore preferred - partner that we want the company to be for our customers in the region.  And this, in turn, will protect the margin on our deals and create shareholder value."
