Cash boost for air ambulance

An air ambulance has benefited to the tune of £12,000 - thanks to the hard work of people taking part in a competition based on TV’s The Apprentice programme.

Laraine Edwards, who works at Oswestry, and team mates Emma Carter, Carol Dackombe, Rachel Nunns and Lisa McCormick raised the money while contestants in the contest organised by supply chain partners.

One of the tasks they had to complete was to run a charity fundraiser - the team held an evening of entertainment and a charity auction that brought in all the cash in one night.

The team presented a cheque for the money to its chosen charity - the Great North Air Ambulance based in North Yorkshire.

Laraine said: “We were delighted with how much we raised on our night - it’s a very good charity to support.”
