No network for SW women

Here’s an interesting question - why is there no South West branch of the BT Women’s Network (BTWN)?

There are regional contacts all over the UK as well as satellites in France, Germany, Spain, the Benelux countries and the USA.

But no-one sufficiently committed in Bristol, Bath, Swindon, Exeter, Gloucester, Taunton or Truro.

For those who haven’t heard of it before, the BTWN is not just a talking shop for women’s issues. It is open to men as well and describes itself as: “A lively network of like-minded professional people, whose energy and sound thinking can be tapped into, is thriving and expanding in BT.”

“With more than 20 years of experience and the support of members throughout the world, the BTWN has firmly established its reputation for connecting people at every level in BT.”

The BTWN helps people expand their network of contacts, gives assistance with career progression, and support and advice in tackling issues which affect people professionally and personally. The network also offers a wide range of networking events, personal development workshops and self-help tools.

If you want to find out more, visit the BTWN website. And, if you are thinking of forming a branch in the South West, let BT Today South West reporter John Wade know.
