Quality milestones reached

BT Design and BT Operate have successfully gained certification in their own right against ISO9001: 2000 (Quality Management), following surveillance audits by Lloyds Register Quality Assurance.

Bill Allison, head of process compliance and quality assurance BT Operate, said: “These important milestones have been delivered against a background of driving to deliver and support customer experience improvements, ongoing transformation and organisational re-alignment.

“It shows the benefits of the two organisations working collaboratively, with the support of BT corporate quality, to ensure that change has not been a barrier to maintaining the effective management of our business and fulfilment of our vision.

“Certification gives us industry-wide recognition as a quality-focused organisation that is determined to deliver its right first time objectives.”

Brian Giffen, director of IT compliance and performance management, BT Design added: “This is a major achievement by all concerned both directly and indirectly and is a vital element that directly adds value to the BT brand.

“Certification also gives us instant commercial leverage - it is a major enabler for us to do business as many of our customers demand evidence of BT’s commitment to quality.

“This achievement demonstrates our quality focus, end to end across BT, as it supports the certification which already exists within the marketfFacing units.”
