BT people in Bristol have the chance to hand in their unused IT equipment as part of an amnesty starting on Monday (7 July).

Brenden Hill, a desktop services transmission manager based at Weston Super Mare, is responsible for organising the amnesty, which runs for two weeks until Friday 18 July.

He said: “We are encouraging everyone to hand in computing equipment that isn’t being used. New or old, it doesn’t matter, as long as it is owned by BT or leased from Computacenter.

“Computacenter charges BT a monthly leasing fee for all computing assets belonging to it - even if they are locked away in a cupboard. So, by handing in unwanted items, we can save the company money and also make sure we are seen as a responsible company when it comes to the disposal of surplus assets.”

BT people can take any eligible computing equipment to Rivergate or St Clement’s House in Bristol - to arrange this, or for more information, contact Brenden on (01977) 593554 or via e-mail.

Brenden added: “If you have laptops, desktops, monitors, printers, scanners etc that are not being used, then bring them into one of the two sites to play your part in helping BT save real money.

"If assets have already been collected but they are still showing against you in eOrganisation, then please visit the desktop assets website and follow the instructions."
