People can watch the action on giant screens set up by BT around the UK

BT - the Official Communications Services Partner for the London 2012 Olympic and Paralympic Games - is helping bring the Beijing Olympic Games to the nation.

London 2012 is rolling out the UK’s largest-ever network of public giant screens - called live sites - to mark four years to the 2012 Olympic Games in the capital and BT is one of the partners making this happen.

The screens will be permanent fixtures in Cardiff, Middlesbrough, Plymouth, Portsmouth, Swansea and Waltham Forest for this year’s Olympic and Paralympic Games in Beijing.

In addition to these screens, there will be an additional 20 around the country, operated by each of the communities involved. It’s expected that on 24 August they will become the hub of activity for communities around the handover moment from Beijing to London.

BT Group director of group marketing and brand Suzi Williams said: “BT is a company with communication at his heart. Through our support of the live sites we’re delighted that communities across the UK will be able to experience this momentous event as we all start looking forward to 2012.”
