The BT hot air balloon will be airborne on Sunday.

BT is taking to the sky to proudly proclaim its support of London 2012 on Sunday (24 August) - the closing day of the Olympic Games in Beijing and the official handover to London.

The company’s newly liveried BT London 2012 hot air balloon will be tethered in Potters Field - near City Hall and Tower Bridge in London.

It will follow one of the most successful Olympic Games for Team GB - currently third in the medals table.

Among the glittering array of gold medals notched up to date are four from BT ambassadors Chris Hoy and Ben Ainslie.

Chris’s clutch of three golds came in the cycling, while Ben took gold in the sailing. And there’s a further chance of gold tomorrow (Friday), as BMX champion Shanaze Reade goes for golden glory in the women’s final.

Suzi Williams, director of group marketing and brand, said: "The BT London 2012 hot air balloon is just one of the ways we're celebrating the handover as the eyes of the world turn to London this Sunday.

"Visitors to London this weekend will also see posters encouraging people to 'party like it's London 2012!' and BT London 2012 branded taxis will be out on the roads in force."
