Animation captures the message
Thursday September 04th 2008.   Posted: 09:50
BT Design’s prioritisation programme - sponsored by Mike Stone, president BT Global Services, service design - has developed a new animation to help BT people understand the company’s new Star Chamber process which supports the company’s goal to become number one for customer service.
The Star Chamber process is the single consistent approach now adopted by senior management across all lines of business for allocating funding for investment proposals. It also underpins the new capital expenditure (capex) budgeting process being implemented across BT. BT Design’s Nick Dawson is the project lead for the prioritisation enabler team which is responsible for the new process. He said: “This short animation explains in a fun and engaging way the steps that need to be followed as part of this new process, from identifying an idea, through the Star Chamber process and Unified Rolling Calendar, to the delivery of that idea.” The animation appears on the BT Design prioritisation enabler area of the BT Design transformation site in both an internal and external (customer facing) version. This site also features additional articles and material which explain more about the programme’s aim to deliver a single, prioritised, project workstack for BT. “This programme will put in place a joined-up, end-to-end approach to prioritisation from the start of a project to its completion,” said Nick. “This will mean that the business will be able to focus resources on BT’s real priorities, eliminating low-value, low-priority work. It will give us transparency across BT, eliminate duplication, save money and allow us to stick to our strategic objectives. “Introduction of the prioritisation process will help give BT Design people the confidence that they are working on market facing unit agreed projects that genuinely contribute towards improvements to the customer experience. “By simplifying the way we work we will be able to respond faster, allowing BT to deliver better than ever before for our customers."
