Volunteer is a real star

A BT Retail fault management advisor from Exeter has been rewarded for her volunteer efforts in the local community.

As part of the BT Volunteers programme, each group is asked to name one person who they feel has gone above and beyond the call of duty.

Sue Stokes, lead for the east Devon Volunteer group, said: “This year I have nominated Shelley Ingham for her consistent involvement with her local school - she’s a real star.”

“Shelley has also organised several activities in her community involving communication, including a workshop for older internet users and a presentation on the dangers of making hoax calls. On top of this, she is a brilliant support to me and any other team member requiring help.”

In addition, Shelley assists Sue with the work experience group at Exbridge House which involves compiling CVs and arranging mock interviews.

Sue added: “We are very pleased that she has been chosen as the overall winner - we at the centre are very proud of her as she always shows the caring and understanding face of BT.”

Shelley will receive a certificate and hamper, and the school of her choice will be given a DVD player.
