Prices capped on international calls

BT Business has launched a permanent price change on international calls that BT Business customers can now get with BT Business One Plan and BT Business Reward packages.

The key message, according to Gary Brooks of calls and lines marketing, is that there’s a maximum price for anywhere you call in the world for up to one hour - which BT Business has called ‘Cap the World’.

Examples of some of the offers are that calls up to one hour to the US are now ten pence. There’s a 25 per cent cut in the cap to France, Germany, Italy and Spain - with calls now costing just 15 pence for up to an hour. Calls to China for the same time are now slashed from 60 pence to just 20 pence.

Gary said: “We have introduced these changes as it supports BT Business’s aim of helping customers do what they do best by allowing them to focus on their business without having to worry that the cost of their call is spiralling. We know that in the current economic climate, this ‘pricing certainty’ is welcomed by our customers as it builds on the existing capped call options within BT Business One Plan - calls within the UK are capped at just 5p for up to an hour and calls to most UK mobiles at just 20p.”

To support the price change, outbound calling began on 1 September within BT Local Businesses (BTLBs) targeting specific customers.

A separate campaign for corporate customers is also under way to target those companies which are reducing their international calling spend with BT Business.

There’s also an e-mail campaign to spread the ‘Cap the World’ message among non-BT customers.
