Can you help with research?

BT is looking for volunteers to take part in research being conducted by Canterbury University - to help shape education in the future.
BT has been approached by the university, which is doing research into people's values and character across all phases of education - from early years, to university, and later into employment. The research will seek to understand how people’s values, skills, and attitudes - which help with good team working, entrepreneurship, leadership and citizenship - have been shaped by education and by their employer. BT is among a number of organisations involved in the project, which includes Price Waterhouse Cooper, National Grid and Tesco. The research findings will be used to influence the shape of education in the future - but may also benefit BT with regard to recruitment, training and retention. BT people and policy manager Naomi Fitton said: “A number of BT people have already been interviewed, but due to the success of these, further interviews are now being planned. “The opportunity is open to all BT people who have left the UK education system within the past three years and were in the UK education system either from the age of three onwards, or from the age of 11 onwards.” The face-to-face interviews - lasting up to 90 minutes - will take place at BT Centre in London between 29 September and 7 October, although a later date may be agreed on an individual basis. Naomi said: “By taking part, people will gain personal benefits through awareness of their capacities, values, virtues and dispositions which enable them to seek and accept growing responsibility in their work and personal life.” Further information about Learning For Life can be found online. Anyone interested in taking part in the research should e-mail Benjamin Gray, with their name, contact details and availability for interview.
