Getting up to speed on IT

BT people at City Place, Gatwick, can catch up on all the latest IT and print services available to them when the national IT roadshow visits the building next Tuesday (30 September).

City Place is one of BT’s 21 enhanced services sites across the country where faster and more efficient PC support services are available. Representatives from BT, Computacenter and Xerox will explain how to make the most of them.

Desktopdoctor and Webtop, Xerox document centres and the enhanced services, introduced as part of the global desktop services deal with Computercenter, will all be featured.

IT engineers will offer hands-on demonstrations of Webtop while managers will be available to answer visitors’ questions. Xerox document advisors will also be at the event, demonstrating ways to print less.

Gatwick is the fifth of eight sites being visited by the roadshow which is aimed at everyone who uses one of the enhanced services buildings in the UK, as well as people from other BT sites in the area.

Michael Davidson, who is organising the events, said: “The enhanced desktop services provided by Computacenter are very new.

“The idea of the roadshow is to inform people about all the different aspects of desktop IT and print services and to let them know what level of service they can expect.

“Enhancing customer service is at the heart of everything we do, so we’ll also be raising awareness of service levels and of the feedback channels that enable people to comment on how we’ve done.”

The roadshow will be available between 10am and 3pm in The Street area of City Place.
