Tony honoured with Cisco award
Wednesday November 19th 2008.   Posted: 09:30
Tony Sanders, a senior partnership manager in BT Global Services, has been given a Cisco Certified Audit Expert award to recognise his efforts in helping BT pass its 25th audit as a Cisco Gold Partner.
The honorary award was especially created for Tony by Cisco and presented to him during an audit for BT Italy. The presentation, by Cisco’s Fabrizio Corradini and auditor Fabrizio Cirilli, was a surprise. In announcing the award Dr Monica Cojocneanu, senior manager, Cisco worldwide channel programmes, said: “Tony has worked very closely with us for the past two years. His attention to detail is well known and his questions and comments help us clarify, re-word some requirements, drive tool enhancements and create new reports. Tony has never asked for an exception, never wanted to short-cut the process. He is indeed a true partner.” Over the last three years Tony has supported 25 different in-country BT entities to develop their routing and switching, wireless local area networks, security and unified communications systems and processes to the level required for a Cisco silver or gold partnership agreement. A minimum of 17 such partnerships are required to achieve Global Partner status with Cisco. BT is only the fourth organisation to achieve this, giving the company a huge advantage with its largest multinational clients. “Global Partner status is an industry benchmark. It proves our global reach and capabilities to customers and is becoming a requirement in more and more tenders,” said Tony. “While this is very nice for me and a unique honour, it is a team achievement. BT people in different countries around the world have worked to take their country to silver or gold partner level. We were targeted to complete all requirements by February 2009, but actually achieved this during June.”
