A paper by BT Group technology strategy expert Michael Crowther has won an award

Best paper about new services and applications - that was the accolade awarded to BT Group technology strategy expert Michael Crowther at ICIN 2008.

The conference - on intelligence in information communication technology - was held in France.

It saw Michael and Rebecca Copeland of Huawei Technologies scoop the award for their combined paper - The OSIP Experience.

OSIP - open systems innovation platform - is just one of the research and innovation projects BT and Huawei have joined forces to develop.

It’s part of a wider BT goal to understand technologies that can help BT speed up delivery of services to customers.

The OSIP is already being used to run a series of demonstrations called Prometheus - designed to show innovative services that are possible with emerging technologies - which are jointly run by BT and Huawei.

Michael said: “OSIP demonstrates that collaboration is at the heart of successful innovation. I really value this award by our peers in the communications industry - it shows that industry understands and values BT’s open innovation agenda.”
