Gary spoke about how to make innovation and philanthropy work side by side

How to make innovation and philanthropy work side by side - that was the subject of a talk given by BT Innovate’s Gary Shainberg to a gathering of senior business people.
Gary - technology and innovation support vice-president - was invited to make the presentation as part of a conference organised by the charity United Jewish Israel Appeal (UJIA). The charity supports children in the UK and the Galil region of Israel through education programmes. The event, held in London, offered a chance to address 50 UK-based senior captains of industry - and inform them how BT is innovating with its customers, said Gary. His presentation included a look at how BT is innovating and an explanation of how the company is using innovation to work with customers, partners and suppliers in the current economic climate. Gary also discussed how the use of innovation in a large enterprise can help with corporate philanthropy. “Being given the opportunity to speak to such a distinguished audience and present BT’s innovation message - and explain how we are helping our customers innovate - was very special,” he said. UJIA chief executive Doug Krikler said: “As a charity we are constantly looking for innovative ways to reach out to our supporters and to ensure we are delivering our programmes as efficiently and effectively as possible for the sake of our beneficiaries. “Gary certainly opened our eyes to the many challenges and opportunities in the world we operate in today and we look forward to taking forward some of the ideas that emerged.”
