Flying start for new author

Matt and Percy

Matt finds solutions to his problems with the help of a pigeon called Percy

New author Anita Hunt is generating publicity for her first book by networking online through BT Tradespace and Twitter.

Fellow members of BT Tradespace - the online community and marketplace for UK small and medium-sized businesses - are helping spread the word about it.

And the comedian Bill Bailey immediately endorsed the book - called Matty-boy & The Secret Pigeon Racket - when she talked about it on the real-time social messaging website Twitter.

The book - which is aimed at eight to 12-year-old children - tells the story of Matt who has to go into foster care after his mother becomes ill.

Publicity

He faces numerous problems - including bullying - when he has to start going to a new school. But he manages to find his own solutions with the help of a pigeon called Percy.

BT Tradespace communities manager Amy Cutbill said: “The online community has really got behind Anita’s new book - providing her with great publicity.”

Anita, who originally launched her personalised greetings cards business Nita Joy Craft on BT Tradespace in October, said: “I recommend BT Tradespace to people all the time. I’ve managed to generate business and meet all sorts of people through it.

“Lots of fellow BT Tradespacers have already recommended my book to their contacts and Bill Bailey has passed on my Twitter post about it to all his Twitter readers - which is great publicity.”

The book can be purchased for £8.99 plus £1.70 postage and packaging from Percy the Pigeon’s page on BT Tradespace. Anita is donating 50p from every sale to the charity Bullying UK which supports young people who are being bullied.
