Evening classes are a success

Collaboration and sharing were hot topics when BT Operate ran a series of five evening classes recently. Top teams from all main lines of business attended to get an in-depth lesson on Operate’s transformation.

The series kicked off with an event for BT Wholesale. After welcoming guests, ‘head teachers’ Debra Bailey, managing director for transformation delivery in BT Operate and Ashley Hannah, director for wholesale service operations, outlined Operate’s strategy and the transformation programmes designed to achieve it.

The opening session was followed by an opportunity to look at each programme in greater detail. Chief executive for BT Wholesale Sally Davis and her team visited each programme stand to talk to the people involved and explore opportunities to develop even greater benefits by aligning Operate and Wholesale’s plans.

The transformation delivery team was delighted with the interaction between lines of business that the open evenings produced. “We learned quite a few lessons from the first workshop,” said Debra.

“There was an open discussion to consider which products and services Wholesale wanted us to prioritise, similar projects they have which could be joined together to drive a greater end to end benefit and how we can best use the resources we have available.”

She added that, if noise levels in the room during the evening were any indication, the workshop was a great success “There was much animated conversation, lots of ideas and suggestions, and many follow-up actions.”
