Gordon Brown was on a whistle-stop tour of the country
|
Super>fast broadband was on the menu when BT’s John Anderson joined senior business leaders and Prime Minister Gordon Brown at a breakfast meeting this week.
John - BT regions managing director and regional director for Yorkshire and the Humber - was among a small select group of business leaders from the region to meet with the Prime Minister, who was on a whistle-stop tour of the country. The key topics were the region’s investment needs - and how the country can best emerge from the recession. John took the opportunity to explain how Yorkshire and the Humber is going to be among the first to benefit from BT’s deployment of super>fast broadband, as key exchanges in Leeds and West Yorkshire are enabled in early 2010. John said BT’s investment in the region’s infrastructure - particularly in the difficult economic climate - was welcomed and seen as another step forward in BT’s journey towards a truly digital region, further supporting the government’s Digital Britain report.
