BT is taking a leading role in this year’s Broadcast Video Expo (BVE) - the annual technology event for the broadcast, audio and video, and new media industries - which opens in London today.
It gives BT the opportunity to highlight its long - more than 50 years - pedigree in content delivery; the role it plays serving more than 500 media production and distribution customers across the world; and its consumer service BT Vision. “This is a key event in the broadcast industry’s calendar and it offers BT Wholesale the opportunity to inform, educate and create interest with new and existing clients about the reach of our UK and global media network to key media locations,” said Mark Wilson-Dunn, BT Wholesale’s media and broadcast (M&B) global sales and marketing director. BVE - which runs at Earls Court until Thursday - brings together leading audio and video manufacturers and suppliers, technical experts, creative talent and forward-thinking media leaders. Pedigree For BT Retail, it offers the opportunity to raise awareness and promote its production and post-production facilities at the BT Tower in London, to showcase high-profile client offerings, and engage with senior management and decision makers. BT Retail will also use the opportunity to promote its pedigree in the internet protocol (IP) TV content management arena and position itself to create platform-ready content for the new IPTV joint venture Canvas. During the event, BT Wholesale’s M&B team and BT Retail’s Vision and Canvas teams will take part in panel sessions. And today, BT is sponsoring the BVE lunch - where invited VIPs and customers have the opportunity to take party in a round-table discussion. BT is also hosting a drinks reception for members of UK Screen - the trade association representing the UK's post-production and special effects industries.
