New deal will help upgrade a number of data centre services

A top Italian internet services company has renewed and extended a data centre deal with BT.
With offices in the UK, the US, Spain, France and Brazil, the Dada Group has agreed a new three-year deal valued at around €3.65m (£3.18m). BT account managers Mirko Florindo and Maurizio Minafra said the existing contract was due to expire and Dada’s new board set itself a target to reduce costs. “Dada also wanted to upgrade several services,” said Mirko. “We were able to prove the quality of our data centre expertise was ‘best in class’ in Italy and in Europe, and Dada has now decided to locate all its European operations at our data centre in Milan.” Detailed proposition BT also proposed a new data centre network for Dada with three core contact points in the US, Europe and Asia. This network will be co-ordinated using a central “intelligent” management system based in Italy. Dada Group provides domain, hosting and value-added mobile services, and advanced online advertising solutions to its consumer and business customers. BT system engineering manager Roberto Tomasini said BT won the renewal because it addressed Dada’s main requirements - a very detailed technical specification and an equally detailed economic proposition. Roberto said winning the renewal was thanks to excellent teamwork between sales, system engineering and bid management.
