Ian Livingston is urging everyone to enter the Innovation Awards

The 2010 Innovation Awards have been launched today by chief executive Ian Livingston - and he is urging everyone in the company to take part.
“We’ve had some great winners in the past - like the team that developed the I-Plate,” he told an audience of more than 450 BT people at BT’s IT centre at Adastral Park in Suffolk. “So please enter and I look forward to hearing all about the winners.” Ian was full of praise for the creativity he’d seen during his visit to Adastral Park. “I’ve seen some great examples of innovation that is relevant to the whole company, that is relevant to our customers - and therefore good for shareholders,” he said. The Innovation Awards recognise creativity in every area of the business and celebrate everything from new ideas, designs and products to new processes achieved during 2009. Judging This is the fourth year the awards have been held, with the last awards attracting almost 200 entries involving more than 450 BT people. Entries can be submitted online and BT people can nominate themselves, a colleague or a team for nine of the 11 categories for work in 2009. Teams are limited to a maximum of five people. All categories have a separate judging panel drawn from across the business. The closing date for entries is 17:00 (GMT) on 1 April, with finalists due to be announced a month later - and the winners due to be announced at a ceremony at London’s BT Centre in the summer.
