Since 2005, BT has been a strategic partner of the World Economic Forum - an independent organisation committed to improving the state of the world by engaging leaders in partnerships to shape global, regional and industry agendas. BT actively participates in the Annual Meeting, regional summits and events, and a range of communities and initiatives throughout the year.
BT’s Chief Executive Officer, Ian Livingston, strongly supports ‘making change happen’, and in 2012 he joined the WEF International Business Council, a community of global chairmen and CEO’s committed to supporting the Forum’s vision for “Improving the State of the World”.
As one of 100 strategic partners, BT contributes expertise to a number of Forum-led initiatives. We are proud to be on the selection committee for Technology Pioneers and are an active member of the Forum’s 'Young Global Leaders' and 'IT and Telecoms Industry' communities.
BT is involved in the 'Risk & Responsibility in a Hyperconnected World' Initiative, which aims to set in place the risk evaluation, detection and response mechanisms necessary to protect networked communications and the online networked economy.
Each year BT is a Summit Partner at several of the Forum’s Regional Summits and an active participant in the Annual Meetings.

Luis Alvarez, who recently became the CEO of BT Global Services, has attended a number of WEF events and is a regular contributor to the WEF blog.
Luis' blogs are available on WEF's website.
