Effective communication skills and the ability to work well and think logically under pressure is essential for this role. There is a need for problem solving skills and the confidence to step outside of process to reach a solution that is honest and legal.

The applicant will be working in a fluid and exciting environment, working closely with the field engineering teams and managers. Due to the nature of the role, communication and knowledge is essential and the applicant will be expected to keep seniors updated on current issues.

To help bring all the knowledge together, a control apprentice will spend some time with the field teams to gain insight into and an appreciation of their role. The majority of training for the role will be done on the job with help from mentors and other members of the control team. There is also a structured learning programme including an NVQ.

Entry requirements

You will need to have achieved or are predicted 4 GCSEs at grade C or above including English Language and Maths. In addition you will need to have a full driving licence and you must be able to recognise a range of colours.

Equivalent grades are accepted.
